It was a rematch of last year's semi-state game which saw Barr-Reeve defeat Clay City before falling in the state championship game. Clay City had revenge on its mind and it was a fantastic game from start to finish with the Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium rocking.

Clay City started the game strongly with a barrage of 3-pointers. Clay City put 19 points on the board in the opening period. Barr-Reeve rode the efforts of Addison Wagler early on which is not an unusual thing for Barr-Reeve. He scored nine of Barr-Reeve's 15 points in the quarter.

The momentum was squarely with Clay City in the second quarter. Senior guard Trevor Singer was solid throughout the game for Clay City. He scored seven points in the first half. Freshman Brigham Booe knocked down two 3-pointers including one at the end of the half to send Clay City into the locker room with a 29-21 lead. It was a circumstance that hurt Clay City and helped Barr-Reeve gather itself.

The Logan James show started in the third frame. The junior guard showed that he was not going to let Barr-Reeve lose. He scored seven points in the quarter but he was just warming up for a bigger performance in the final period.

Barr-Reeve cut Clay City's lead to two points heading to the fourth quarter. It seemed like Clay City was a little passive to start the quarter which Logan James took advantage of. James scored 17 of Barr-Reeve's 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Clay City made plays of its own down the stretch. Evan Rogers hit two big 3-pointers that looked like they could push Clay City over the top. Each time Clay City took the lead late in the fourth quarter, James took it right back for Barr-Reeve. He kept pressure on the Clay City defense by attacking off the dribble and Clay City fouled him in the waning seconds of the game. James went to the line eight times in the final 75 seconds of the game; he hit seven of them with the final one coming with 3.1 left.

Barr-Reeve came from behind for the 56-54 victory. They will have a rematch in the state title game from last year against Marquette Catholic.

Logan James led all scorers with 26 points including 24 in the second half. Addison Wagler had 15, Duncan Roy finished with nine points. Chris Wittmer added four while Ethan Duncheon had two points for Barr-Reeve.

Clay CIty was led by Trevor Singer's 15 points. Evan Rogers had 12, Brigham Booe scored nine Easton Booe added eight, Noah Denker had five while Logan Cesinger had four.
