It was a rematch of last year's semi-state game which saw Barr-Reeve defeat Clay City before falling in the state championship game. Clay City had revenge on its mind and it was a fantastic game from start to finish with the Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium rocking.

Barr-Reeve cut Clay City's lead to two points heading to the fourth quarter. It seemed like Clay City was a little passive to start the quarter which Logan James took advantage of. James scored 17 of Barr-Reeve's 20 points in the fourth quarter.
Clay City made plays of its own down the stretch. Evan Rogers hit two big 3-pointers that looked like they could push Clay City over the top.
