The second game of the day at the Hall of Fame Classic featured Bloomington South and Warsaw. This game was special because of the point guard match-up. Bloomington South has Xavier-bound Dee Davis while Warsaw has Illinois State-bound Nic Moore. Both point guards are about the same size and have the same quickness level.
Davis and Moore didn't take long to go at one another. Davis put a crossover that made Moore fall to the floor as Davis finished with a floater. Moore got up took the inbounds pass right up the floor for a lay-up. Moore continued to put on a show early and scored 11 first quarter points. Davis wasn't quite as assertive for Bloomington South but finished the quarter with 7 points as the game was tied at 19 after 1.
The second quarter was much of the same for Moore. Moore hit tough shot after tough shot featuring fade aways and step back moves. Bloomington South was more balanced. Joey Forney and Desmond Marks both contributed around the rim. Spencer Turner struggled from the outside especially in the first half. Warsaw took a narrow 30-29 lead to the second half. Moore had 18 first half points.
The second half was similar to the first half. It was a close game throughout and Moore made a lot of tough plays. Davis became more and more assertive for Bloomington South. Spencer Turner was able to get a couple of shots to fall as well. The Bloomington South offense in the fourth quarter was all Davis and Turner. The other players didn't look at the rim. Moore was basically the only option for Warsaw. 6'5" junior Lucas Grose was able to convert some shots in the paint for Warsaw but it was mainly because of the attention paid to Moore.
The game was decided when Warsaw was down 3 with the ball and 40 seconds left. Moore drove baseline where he was double teamed and he threw an errant pass that went into the back court. When Bloomington South inbounded the ball, Moore was forced to foul which was his 5th foul. BHSS held on for the 65-62 win.
Nic Moore finished with 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Dee Davis finished with 27 points for the winning team. Spencer Turner had 15 points while Desmond Marks had 11. Lucas Grose had 11 points for Warsaw.

Nic Moore 5'9 PG 2011 Warsaw
Moore was awesome in the game. What will allow him to be effective at the next level is his toughness and strength. Players can make up for a lack of height with mental and physical toughness, Moore has both. It helps that he is a really good shooter as well.
Dee Davis 5'11 PG 2011 Bloomington South
Davis is much like Moore. He might not be quite the shooter that Moore is, but he has more dribble moves and might be a little quicker. Davis will need to work in the weight room to be able to contribute at Xavier next season.
Spencer Turner 6'4 SG 2011 Bloomington South
Turner struggled from the outside most of the game. He didn't put the ball on the floor for more than 2 dribbles in the half court. He is a great catch and shoot, shooter, but he will need to expand his game to contribute for Belmont. His quickness really worries me about his ability to compete at the D1 level.
Lucas Grose 6'5 PF 2012 Warsaw
Grose didn't do much away from the basket. He did have one possession where he went coast to coast and finished against contact. I don't think he has very much college potential although he has pretty good length.
Desmond Marks 6'5 PF 2011 Bloomington South
Marks is a wide-bodied banger who uses his body well. He also has good shooting form. He knocked down a couple of mid-range and long-range shots in this game. He isn't a very good athlete though in terms of jumping or quickness. Possibly a NAIA/D3 prospect.
