First look at Lawrence North this year. Michael Chandler committed to the University of Central Florida this past weekend. Second look at Devin Davis and the Warren Central Warriors this season.
It was surprising when Michael Chandler wasn't announced to start the game. He warmed-up and looked healthy so I assumed it was for other reasons. That proved to be correct because he entered the game in the third quarter.
Lawrence North jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead behind some easy baskets after turnovers. Turnovers would hurt Warren Central all night. Eron Harris got off to a hot start for Lawrence North. He attacked the rim and finished plus he hit a 3-pointer. Davis got going late for Warren Central and hit a shot near the buzzer. LN lead 12-11 after the first quarter.
The second quarter was much of the same for both teams. Eron Harris hit another deep 3, but picked up his third foul. Davis was the only scoring option for Warren Central. He hit a 3 at the buzzer to bring the Warriors within 1 at 25-24.
Lawrence North switched their defense in the second half and it took Davis out of the game for the third quarter. They started to trap Davis when he caught the ball in the corner and would double team on pretty much all catches. Chandler entered the game after a few minutes into the quarter. Warren Central only scored 4 points in the quarter and LN increased the lead to 40-28.
Davis had a strong finish, but no one else on Warren Central could score or take care of the ball. WC was forced to foul most of the fourth quarter and Lawrence North made enough free-throws to never allow them back into the game. Lawrence North held on for a 57-46 victory.

Devin Davis 6'6 SF 2013 Warren Central
Davis had a very good game scoring wise. He had 25 of the 46 points for Warren Central. Davis is still transitioning to the pure perimeter player that he wants to be. He struggled against traps mainly and some double teams. That is likely because he doesn't have much experience against those things. If he had more arc on his shot he would be a much better outside shooter.
Michael Chandler 6'10 C 2011 Lawrence North
Chandler sat for nearly 2 1/2 quarters. I would guess that he missed a practice or two while visiting UCF this past weekend. He didn't get to show any back to the basket moves because Warren Central was trapping and fouling for the most part when he was in. He did attack the rim a few times though and I liked that aggressiveness.
Eron Harris 6'3 CG 2012 Lawrence North
Harris is still a bit under the radar, but his game continues to improve. At 6'3, he is long and quick although probably not quick enough to guard point guards at the next level. He handles the ball well against pressure, can score off the dribble, and can shoot it from long range. Harris made a couple of turnovers off of bad passes. He is a solid MM prospect.
Tyler Bibbs 6'4 SF 2011 Lawrence North
Bibbs is a good athlete and pretty strong. He is a tweener small forward/power forward. He can knock down mid-range jumpers, but not much deeper. His athleticism should allow him to guard taller perimeter "4" men at the NAIA/D3 level.
Brandon Muncie 6'5 SF 2011 Lawrence North
Muncie is an amazing leaper. His 4 points on the night came from 2 impressive dunks. I think he could become a great defender with his length. He wouldn't be an immediate impact player, but he could develop into a solid player at the D2/NAIA level.
Trey Williams 5'11 PG 2013 Lawrence North
First look at Williams for me. Williams looks like a steady point guard that has good quickness especially in a first step and can also knock down shots from the perimeter. First thoughts are that he could develop into a LM+ prospect.
Brent Calhoun 6'8 C 2012 Warren Central
Calhoun didn't have his best game. He picked up a couple of quick fouls and let his temper get the best of him. At 6'8", he is a back to the basket 5. His lack of athleticism will hurt him even more at the next level.
Petey Balls 6'1 PG 2012 Lawrence North
Balls controlled the ball late and was very good against traps and double teams. He always kept his poise and didn't get anixous. He is a pretty good shooter from the outside and really good in the mid-range. I see Balls as a definite LM prospect and possibly LM+.
