First look at Indianapolis Washington this season. It is nice to see a team for the first time against a team that I have seen multiple times like Broad Ripple. I know Broad Ripple's personnel inside and out at this point so I can judge Washington's talent much better.
Early tipoff of 10am and the game had a sluggish feel to it. The first quarter was extremely low scoring and it wasn't because either team was holding the ball. Shots just weren't falling combined with a good amount of turnovers. Broad Ripple led 10-6 after the first quarter despite Ron Patterson being held scoreless.
Aaron Payne came alive in the second quarter for Broad Ripple. Lamont Pruitt provided some energy and spark for Broad Ripple as well. Pruitt dominated the boards and was able to convert in the paint a few times. It appeared as if Broad Ripple would start to pull away and be able to rest guys in the second half.
That did not happen though. Broad Ripple couldn't capitalize on Washington turnovers and the game remained close. Mo Cross started to use his athleticism to get to the rim in the second half. The game was still in reach for Washington heading into the fourth quarter down 36-27.
Broad Ripple was able to get some transition points in the fourth quarter and opened up a little bit more breathing room. Washington wasn't able to knock down shots when they needed it. Broad Ripple held on for a 50-37 victory and a berth into the semifinals of the city tournament.

Lamont Pruitt 6'3 PF 2011 Broad Ripple
Pruitt is a tweener SF/PF for the next level. I think he is a good enough athlete to guard most 3's at the D2/NAIA level. Offensively, it would be a stretch to play him at the SF, but he could be a face up 4 because he can put it on the floor for a couple dribble and can hit a mid-range jumper. He is a great athlete. He could be really good at the lower D2/NAIA levels where he can use his athleticism.
Mo Cross 6'4 SF 2012 Broad Ripple
Cross is a very good athlete. He has the ability to be a great defender. His offensive game needs a lot of work. His shot selection is awful at this point and he is a streaky shooter from the outside at best. His handles are weak at this point as well. Cross really needs to improve his whole offensive skill set to go along with his athleticism.
Aaron Payne 6'0 PG 2012 Broad Ripple
I'm an Aaron Payne fan. I like how he plays. He is good in the mid-range and sees the floor well. He is also a capable defender. His outside shooting needs work to become more consistent. Payne should end up being a good prospect for the D2/NAIA level.
DeShawne Wilcox 6'5 PF 2011 Washington
First time seeing Wilcox and there are certainly some things that he does well. He can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim although he isn't the quickest guy. His feet in the post are pretty good. It seems like he has pretty good hands. He didn't finish well in this game and it wasn't even close. His outside shot was way off and it takes him awhile to get it off. He jumps decently well but not an out of the gym type of athlete.D2/NAIA prospect as long as he can play some in the post.
Juan Sarver 5'11 PG 2011 Washington
Sarver, formerly of Avon, has a good first step and is built pretty well for a point guard. His shooting is inconsistent and I get the feeling that he thinks he is a much better shooting than he really is from his shot selection. I think he could play at some D2/NAIA/JUCO's because of his quickness.
