In the last two weeks, there have been a number of commitments in the state of Indiana. First, Khristian Smith, 6'5 SF Pike HS, announced that he would head to Maine Central Institute next year and then go to the University of Cincinnati the following year. The biggest commitment was when Marquis Teage, also of Pike, finally announced that he would play for John Calipari at Kentucky. There are rumors that Michael Harris, the Indiana All-Star from East Chicago Central, is heading to Maine Central Institute but I don't think that is confirmed yet. A third Indiana senior looks to be heading to Maine Central Institute as well,Neal Beshears, a 6'6 Indiana All-Star from Winchester, announced that he will be attending MCI next year. One reason for all the players going to MCI next year is assistant coach Jeff Schoenle.Schoenle is a Fort Wayne native and worked with the basketball team at Purdue as a four-year manager.
I have also heard that Leland Brown of Noblesville will attend the University of Indianapolis next year. Brown can do a little bit of everything on the court and can guard multiple positions at the next level. Brown should be a good pick-up for U of Indy. It also appears that Seth Kisler, the 6'8 forward from Fort Wayne, will be attending Huntington next year. Kisler flew under most schools radars, but he is going to have a great career at Huntington.
