We are going to have a weekly recap of the players that we saw every week. These reviews will focus on players that are un-committed along with players that we have not seen very much of or guys that have improved since the last time we saw them for the most part. This week we have the spotlight on 9 players.
In order of college potential with only uncommitted players included…

Keaton Hendricks 6’6” SF 2014 Bloomington South Hendricks has been the best new player that we have seen this season. He blew us away with his versatility and smoothness driving to the basket. He is a great shooter with a consistent release. High-majors and mid-majors need to check him out as soon as possible.
Jaylon Brown 6’0” PG 2013 Fishers Brown has been struggling all fall and to start the high school season. I think a lot of it is that he doesn’t know what exactly his role is in terms of being a point guard while still looking to score. His outside shot is very inconsistent. I think a lot of that inconsistency on his shot is the fact that he is so athletic that he can get his shot off no matter how bad his footwork is. The inconsistent footwork leads to inconsistent shooting. His upside is still tremendous; he just needs to figure out how to be a scorer and a point guard at the same time.
Aaron Brennan 6’5” PF 2014 Guerin Catholic We saw Brennan for a second time this season on Tuesday. He has a very nice skill set. He has back to the basket moves and he is a good spot-up shooting. He can’t score off the dribble right now against decent athletes. His athleticism puts him in the mid-major category instead of high-major unless he grows about 3 more inches.
Isaiah Gooch 6’6” PF 2014 Bloomington South First good look at Gooch when he played against Southport. He was extremely productive in the first half as he dominated the paint. He had an above the rim tip-in that showed off his athleticism. He had a couple of chances to use his left-hand in the post to make an easy basket and used his right to make a tougher shot instead. He will need to develop that left hand. Gooch knocked down a couple of 15-18 footers, but the release wasn’t smooth. He was also a little shaky with the ball in his hands on the perimeter which forced him to sit while South played ball control in the fourth. Mid-major prospect, but has work to do to get to that level.
Joe Retic 6’3” SF 2012 Fishers Retic struggled in a big way against Warren Central. He is a borderline D1/D2 player for me although he reported a couple of D1 offers earlier. He is a good athlete and can do a little bit of everything, but he gets out of control at times. He will either lose control while attacking or take bad shots. I like him much better for D2 than D1 unless the D1 is just looking for a athletic role player.
Josh James 6’7” PF 2012 Andrean I haven’t seen James yet, but I hear he is improving. He is a high-academic kid so he could be a good option for programs looking to add a late big. He would still be a much better option for good D2’s, but I think he could contribute to a lot of low-majors.
Jordan Garnett 6’4” PF 2014 Warren Central Garnett has always been a high-motor guy that gets his points off of rebounds. Tonight, he showed a little bit more of a perimeter game. He will need to be a small forward at the next level, so it is good to see that part of his game is improving. Garnett has had a bit of an attitude problem, but it rarely shows on the court where he is always working.
Mo Cross 6’3” SG 2012 Broad Ripple Besides the fact that he didn’t miss, he also only had one turnover against Guerin. The downside to Cross has always been handles and decision making. Either forcing shots, passes, or drives, but tonight he just took what was there. If he played like that consistently, Cross would be a low-major prospect. He has a chance, but he will have to prove the consistency over the year.
Edward Seay 6’8” PF 2012 Battling a knee problem, but from reports has played much better offensively this year. I have not had a chance to see him yet. I’m hearing that he has struggled defensively. He is still likely a better D2/NAIA candidate than low-major, but he is a player to keep in mind if you need a big at the last second. {/iACL}
