INDIANAPOLIS- Entering Friday night’s game against Columbus North, Lawrence Central’s Jeremy Hollowell was only 25 points shy of joining the 1,000 career point club. With this in mind, he was focused right from the tip. Hollowell played one of the best games I’ve ever seen him play and I’ve seen him in at least 50 games over the last four years. Early in the third quarter, he hit a three that put him over the 1,000 point mark.
Despite Hollowell’s great game, Columbus North stayed close with Lawrence Central. Columbus North has a star in the making with freshman Josh Speidel. Speidel only finished with six points, but he was guarded by Hollowell most of the game and he still showed flashes of his potential.
Lawrence Central led 39-36 at halftime before Hollowell took over the third quarter. Hollowell scored 13 points in the period including a couple of highlight reel alley-opps. Columbus North had no answer for him and the game slipped away from them during the third.
Lawrence Central walked away with a 74-60 victory as Columbus North chipped into the lead late in the fourth quarter. Hollowell finished with a game-high 36 points and 10 rebounds.

Lawrence Central
Tyler Corley 5’11” PG 2012 Corley showcased his good side and his bad side against Columbus North. CN had no one that could stop him from getting into the lane. Now, when he got to the rim the results were less than satisfactory. He has unbelievable explosiveness but his decision making is sub-par. That is what has held him back from being a D1 or top-level D2 player and it doesn’t look like it has improved.
Tyler Fischl 6’4” SF 2012 Fischl is a pure energy/effort player and that is what he provided tonight. 8 rebounds and only 6 points, but he will fill a role for a D2/NAIA program and be very successful.
Richard Freeman 6’7” PF 2013 Freeman didn’t score tonight and he didn’t get many chances. I’ve heard some rumbling that his offensive game is really coming along, but tonight showed that he has a way to go still. One thing Freeman did show was that he has great lateral quickness for a 6’7” high school player. He guarded and pressured Columbus’ point guard ¾ court. He was just 0-3 from the field though.
Columbus North
Josh Speidel 6’7” PF 2015 Speidel made me walk away tonight very impressed. We have him as the 5th best prospect in the 2015 class in our updated rankings. He posted against Hollowell very well and showed a nice touch from the mid-range. He also showed that he can handle the ball. Speidel even beat Hollowell off the dribble for a lay-up in the third quarter. He isn’t the quickest player, but he jumps well for a young, big guy. His upside is extremely high especially if he continues to grow.
Sawyer Glick 6’4” SG 2013 Glick is a player from the fall league and I was excited to get to see him in high school play. He was able to get open looks tonight, but was able to knock them down consistently. Glick will be a college player. I think the things that will determine what level are 1) can he consistently get open looks off the dribble against top level athletes? 2) can he defend top level athletes? Right now, I would say the answer to both of those questions are no. He still has a chance to improve those areas and become a D1 prospect, but he projects as a small college prospect as of now.
Evan Henry 6’2” SG 2014 Henry is a bit on the thin side, but it looks like he has a nice skill set. He shot it well and showed that he could get to the basket. He is player we will have to see more of over the next couple of years.
Clint Cunningham 6’6” PF 2013 Cunningham is a player for D2/NAIA/D3 programs to have on their radar. He is 6-6 and a pretty good athlete that can also hit a spot-up 3. He is on the thin side and doesn’t always finish well around the basket.
Kyle Kamman 6’2” SG 2012 This was my first time seeing Kamman, but he did some nice things against tough competition. Just off of tonight, I’d say that he can play for most NAIA/D3 level programs. He has some quickness and finished around the basket. {/iACL}
