Past_Notes | De-committed from Purdue 3-29-15. ---11-2014 vs. Warren Central. 24 points on 5-19 shooting. It was his first game as the main scoring option. He was just a little tight on his shots. He will have much better games this season. 10-28-14 Walker committed to Purdue over Cincinnati and Butler.
9-18-14 Open Gym - Walker shot the ball really well. Each shot he took - whether it was off the dribble or spot-up - was consistent. The ability to knock down shots from the outside is key to Walker's success at the high-major level since he is not an explosive athlete. He shot has made major strides. He hit multiple shots off the dribble over defenders in the mid-range. His shot used to take a long time to get off - that is improving. Walker is scoring 9 PPG thru 8 EYBL games which is solid for a rising junior. He has not been able to convert around the basket very well (34%). His assist to turnover ratio isn't great right now, but he does a great job of feeding the post. Extremely good game against the talented and big guards of Huntington Prep. He did have some trouble when they really turned up the pressure, but he also speed dribbled by the defenders at times. Poised, steady point guard. The lefty is a decent outside shooter as well. His athleticism for the college game worries me a bit, but he is a fantastic high school player |
Overall_Notes | De-committed from Purdue 3-29-15. Walker is best summed up with the word "poise." He has played in some big games early in his high school career and never seems phased by the moment. He's not ultra quick or explosive and he is not a great shooter from the outside right now. He is very good in the lane and makes good decisions with the ball. He just finds a way to get to the basket - usually going to his strong hand. His outside shot has improved but he needs time and space to hit his shots |
