We had a chance to catch up with Lake Central junior Tyler Wideman on Saturday. Here is what he said about his recruitment and more.

Tyler Wideman, 6’6” PF 2014, listed offers from Purdue, Xavier, and Ball State on Saturday.  Purdue offered Wideman early in his high school career. Purdue is not recruiting him heavily right now. To my knowledge, they have not been to a game this year to watch him. He said the schools he talks to the most right now are Indiana State, Tennessee and Xavier. “I’m trying to get down to Indiana State pretty soon,” Wideman commented about the Sycamores.

Wideman did not have a great performance against Cathedral. The biggest positive I saw from Wideman on Saturday was the way he was moving. He is in much better shape this year. “I feel a lot better conditioning wise. We have a lot of big people on this team and that helps, but I feel a lot better,” said Wideman. His improved conditioning has helped his jumping ability considerably. His first step away from the basket looked a lot better than it was over the summer. {/iACL}
