D.J. McCall, 6-6 SF Fort Wayne Concordia HS/Indiana Fire 2014, recently took an unofficial visit to hometown IPFW. He toured the campus and then played open gym. He will attend Wright State's elite camp June 23rd then take an unofficial visit to UMKC at the end of June. IUPUI is also in the picture. In May McCall told me that he wanted to get away from Fort Wayne for college but not too far.
Mack Mercer, 6-9 PF Plymouth HS/Eric Gordon All-Stars 2014, will take an OFFICIAL visit to Boston College next week. He reiterated that Belmont, Boston College and Indiana State are still his top 3 like he stated in April. Mercer said that Michigan, St. Louis and Nebraska have also expressed some interest lately. He said that he played well at Michigan's “elite” camp recently. If Michigan came with into the picture strongly then I would think believe that would totally change Mercer's situation.
Tyler Wideman, 6-7 PF Lake Central HS/Mean Streets 2014, reported offers from Central Michigan, Kent State and Indiana State on Wednesday night. He said there were others but he couldn't remember them at the time. “I talk to Kent State, Indiana State, San Jose State. I really talk to those people a lot,” Wideman said. San Jose State has been recruiting Northwest Indiana recently. They were in the picture with Munster's Michael Schlotman and then La Lumiere's Jalen James is heading there next year.
Wideman's June schedule features the Wheeler Shootout this weekend, the Indiana State team camp and a tournament in the Indianapolis area. “My physical presence. Moves with my back to the basket, and my jump shot from 15 feet to 3's,” said Wideman about things he has been trying to improve this spring and summer. Wideman said there is no set timetable for a decision His family will be a big factor in his decision. {/iACL}
