A few scholarship offers were extended today including a couple from Big Ten teams.
La Lumiere's (formerly Cathedral HS) Jalen Coleman was offered by the University of Michigan. Michigan has been involved with Coleman from day 1. They have a program policy of not offering kids until June 15th going into their junior year just like Butler University. He was also offered by Arizona on Monday. Coleman also has offers from Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Illinois. I would expect a Butler offer to be coming Coleman's way soon.
Nebraska extended an offer to Nick Rogers while on an unofficial visit. Rogers had a lengthy list of schools contact him on June 15th including Mississippi State, Ole Miss (offer) , Loyola (offer), Kennesaw State, Valpo, Nebraska, IUPUI, UIC, Colgate, Kent State (offer), Tennessee, and Ball State. Rogers plays for Pat Mullin's Eric Gordon Central Stars team in the spring and summer. He will take an unofficial visit to IUPUI on Thursday before heading to Tennessee on Friday. Rogers will take an unofficial visit on Friday then attend their “elite” camp on Saturday.
A player that has seen his stock skyrocket this spring is Justin Mitchell. He picked up his first major offer from Ball State. At 6-3, 6-4, Mitchell has great size and athleticism for a point guard. He has proven that he can be a pass-first point guard against tough competition while still scoring when he has the opportunity. I would expect Mitchell to have a handful of offers before the end of July.
