Evansville Bosse superstar JaQuan Lyle has verbally committed to the University of Louisville. Lyle is a top 20 player nationally in the 2014 class. He picked Louisville over Indiana, Florida and Tennessee. I have long believed that Louisville was the leader for Lyle's services. The Louisville system fits him well.
With Lyle committed to Louisville, many are wondering if he can recruit his Spiece Indy Heat teammate Trey Lyles to Louisville. Lyles is a top 10 national talent. His current list includes Florida, Butler, Kentucky, UCLA , Louisville and Duke. I do not think Lyles will be swayed by JaQuan's commitment too greatly.
JaQuan Lyle is a power guard. He has great size and strength at the point guard position. He is a good athlete but does not have elite level quickness or explosiveness. Lyle has great court vision. He will try to force the spectacular pass that leads to turnovers. That is why he only has a 1.5:1 assist to turnover ratio in Nike EYBL games this year. He is certainly best when he is attacking the basket. He finishes well around the rim because of his strength. His outside shooting is streaky at this point.
Lyle is just the fourth commitment from an Indiana player in the 2014 class. He joins James Blackmon Jr. (Indiana), Bryant McIntosh (Indiana State) and Grant Evans (Wright State).
