Bowman Academy from Gary, Indiana played in Purdue's team camp on Friday. It gave the Purdue coaching staff a chance to watch Bowman's Davon Dillard closely. At the end of the day, Purdue offered Dillard a scholarship. Dillard is the third Indiana prospect in the 2015 class to receive a scholarship offer from Purdue. The other two are Jalen Coleman and Hyron Edwards.
Dillard is certainly a good enough athlete to play in the Big Ten. He has good quickness, and is a great leaper. At 6-5 and around 200 pounds, he is already looking like a college player physically. The biggest question mark about Dillard's game to this point has been his perimeter skills. His form on his jumper has always been decent, but the consistency was not there. On Friday, his skills looked slightly improved but he will need to continue to improve if he is going to be a high-major player.
