Park Tudor shooter Trevon Bluiett has cut his college choices to seven. On Wednesday evening, Bluiett announced that Arizona, Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, UCLA, & Xavier remain in contention for his services. The top 50 recruit averaged 19 points per game in 22 contests during the Nike EYBL.
Bluiett is a 6-6 wing with a very sturdy build. He is one of the best shooters in the country. He shot 38% on 146 three-point attempts on the EYBL circuit. His percentage was much higher before the Peach Jam where he went 11-41beyond the arc. He's not only a good shooter off the catch with his quick release, but he is also a very good shooter off the dribble.
He doesn't have the quickness to beat high-major defenders off the dribble, but he uses his body well and maximizes any edge that he gets on the drive. Bluiett has added a strong post-up game as well when smaller defenders try to guard him. He is not afraid to be physical in the post on either end of the court.
Bluiett will be an immediate contributor for the school that he goes to with his shooting ability. Defending at the high-major level will be a challenge for Bluiett because he is not great laterally. He can compensate for that quickness with his physicality. Therefore, I do not think he will be easily exploited on the defensive end.
