Michigan City's Keenan Simmons has committed to D1 Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. He played for the Indiana Dawgz in the summer. Simmons is an athletic combo forward. He scored 9.4 points per game for a 10-12 Michigan City team as a junior.
Simmons received some attention after a solid showing at the IBCA Top 100 workout in July. His athleticism is what draws the attention. His potential ceiling is much higher than his current skill level. We have him as the 17th best small forward in the Indiana 2014 class and 71st overall. Simmons could easily be in the top 40 off of potential though.
Southern Illinois-Edwardsville already has a commitment from Springfield, Illinois power forward Jalen Henry as well. According to verbalcommits.com, SIU-E has two more scholarships available for the 2014 class right now.
