2014 guard Eric Davidson of Hamilton Southeastern has committed to the University of Indianapolis. The 6-foot-1 Davidson had an incredible senior season for HSE leading them to the sectional championship over Carmel. Here is more on the commitment.
It took awhile for Davidson's recruitment to take off, but after his stellar play in the sectional, offers from St. Joe's College (Ind.), Northwood (MI), Indiana Tech and Indianapolis came in. He also had earlier offers from IU-South Bend and Grace College. Anderson University recruited Davidson very heavily all season as well. D1 Eastern Illinois was also showing late interest in Davidson but no scholarship offer developed.
Eric Davidson averaged 18.7 points and 3.5 assists per game while leading Hamilton Southeastern to a record of 23-4. He shot 84 of 156 (54%) from the three-point line. Davidson recently won The American Family Insurance High School Slam 3-point contest at The Final Four in Dallas.
The University of Indianapolis should be a great spot for Davidson. Head coach Stan Gouard has built them into one of the best Division II programs in the country. They were 24-5 this season. They play an uptemp style averaging 88 points per game. That will allow Davidson to get open transition looks from the outside. It looks like this commitment benefits both sides greatly.
