King James Shooting Stars power forward Dererk Pardon (2015) has committed to Northwestern. Here is more on his commitment.
Dererk Pardon is a 6-foot-7, 215 pound power forward from Villa Angela St. Joesph High School in Ohio. He is a lefty, post player that has great instincts on the defensive end of the court. He anticipates well defensively instead of just reacting to the movement of the ball. At his size, that makes him a fantastic asset to have.
Pardon's offensive game needs some work. He finishes well at the rim because of his athleticism but his touch and back to the basket game need refinement. He did not display any midrange shooting ability when I watched him in Dallas at the Nike EYBL event. Pardon is averaging 7 points and 5 rebounds per game in the extremely competitive EYBL.
Pardon decided on Northwestern despite scholarship offers from Xavier, Pittsburgh and Dayton. He definitely adds athleticism and depth to the Northwestern frontline. The talent level is on the rise at Northwestern.
