Homestead's Caleb Swanigan was named to the McDonald's All-American team on Wednesday evening. Swanigan was the lone selection from Indiana this year. Swanigan has Homestead in position to compete for a state title in March. Here's a look at Swanigan and other recent McDonald's All-American selections from Indiana.
Caleb Swanigan is the frontrunner for Indiana's Mr. Basketball this season after reclassifying to 2015 from 2016 last spring. Swanigan has had a number of 20 point, 20 rebound games throughout his career at Homestead. There are more weapons around Swanigan this year, so he has not been the only offensive weapon like past years. He has been as dominant as ever though. His efficiency is through the roof.
Swanigan has not made his college decision yet. A decision is not expected before April after current college players declare for the NBA Draft. He took an unofficial visit to Notre Dame on Wednesday night to see them play Duke. The Blue Devils have recruited Swanigan hard as of late. Kentucky, Arizona, Purdue, California, Michigan State are also in the picture but he is wide open.
