Mooresville senior guard K.C. Earls has played really well throughout the Metro Indy Fall League. Earls has high expectations for Mooresville and himself. He discussed those hopes with Indiana Basketball Source.
Earls has shined in a number of areas during Metro Indy Fall League. He is shooting the ball really well from the outside. Earls is converting more than 50% of his outside shots. That is his biggest weapon.
He has been working hard on his shot.
“About four or five times a week I've been going in and shooting 200-300 shots a day,” said K.C. Earls. “Then I've been working on my consistency because that is one thing I had trouble with last year.”
Earls is doing more than just spot-up for shots though. He has done a good job rebounding for a guard and playing defense as well. His strength helps him in both areas.
Earls expects to handle the ball more frequently this season for Mooresville. He has been working on that part of his game as well.
“I've doing a lot of ball-handling because I'm going to be playing the guard spot for the high school team,” Earls told Indiana Basketball Source.
Mooresville enters the 2015-2016 season with major expectations after a successful season last year.
We have a lot of big expectations this year. Last year we went 19-5, we fell short in the sectional. We won a conference championship. We lost one senior, so we retuurn everybody and we are working hard to get ready for this year. Hopefully we can come out and play hard and we'll see what happens.
K.C. Earls has received some college interest to this point with local schools showing the most interest.
“I've gotten some looks from Indiana Wesleyan, Bethel College, Wabash College, Franklin, St. Joe's and Marian,” said Earls. “I'm open to anything really. I want to play basketball at the next level, I just want to play.”
Academics will help Earls find a place to play at the next level. He reports a 3.48 grade point average and 1350 SAT score. His grades should pique the interest of small colleges.
The combination of his skill set and academic standing makes Earls a no-brainer for most Division III programs and a player that most Division II and NAIA programs should check out.
