Scouting Report | Wideman is a big-bodied freshmen that starts for a good Lake Central team that features Glenn Robinson, Jr. Wideman is skilled with good hands and his footwork is pretty good for being just a freshmen. He uses his body well and finishes consistently inside. He isn't a great athlete at this point, so if he could grow another couple of inches it would help his recruiting stock, but I believe he is done growing. His face-up game is improving, but still a major work in-progress.
vs. Cathedral is in much better shape this season which is allowing him to move much better. He is elevating much, much better. His first step looks good when he puts the ball on the floor away from the basket. His skill set just is not there. He did hit one 17 foot jumper and his form looks pretty good on his jumper. I had him for 6 points and 9 rebounds in the game against Cathedral. Most of those rebounds were in the first quarter. He did not have many "out of his area" rebounds. Mid-Major prospect |
