The Indianapolis suburbs are the hotbed of college basketball recruiting this weekend. Two major shoe company circuits – Nike EYBL & Under Armour’s Association – are hosting events as well as the Terrific 24, Spring Classic and Indy Live. Here’s a look at the standouts from EYBL on Friday night.

Brian Bowen of LaLumiere School (LaPorte, Ind.) had a strong opening EYBL weekend in NYC. He averaged a double-double for Meanstreets. He was back at it again on Friday night. Bowen “only” had 14 points and eight rebounds in a win over a talented CP3 team.

I was really impressed with the play of Isaiah Livers as well. It is easy to be impressed when a player goes 5-5 from the field. He finished with 14 points and five rebounds. He battled Wendell Carter and Victor Enoh in the post well.

Speaking of Wendell Carter, he was as dominant as anyone. Carter finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Meanstreets. His quickness has taken a step forward in the last year. He is comfortable playing as a wing that can slash to the basket. He’s best on the block, though.

Jaren Jackson Jr. had a breakout performance in the last game of the first EYBL session last week. He had 35 points in that. He had a strong follow-up to that game. Jackson tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds. He was 6-8 from the field and 7-7 from the line. The potential is turning into production.

Marvin Bagley, III didn’t have his most efficient game, but he was stellar. He had 23 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. Seven of his 12 rebounds were on the offensive end.

Michael Porter Jr. had 22 points and 15 rebounds in a win over the Alabama Challenge.  2019 forward Trendon Watford continues to play well. He had 21 points and five rebounds in the loss to MoKan Elite.

Collin Sexton tallied 37 points on 12-25 shooting against California Supreme. Sexton had nine rebounds as well.

Kevin Knox is an elite player and he showed it on Friday evening.  Knox had 25 points and 13 rebounds against Boo Williams. A slightly more under-recognized player on E1T1 is Emmitt Williams. He is a high-major player as well. Williams had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Gary Trent Jr. is a natural scorer and that’s what he did on Friday evening. He finished with 28 points on 4-9 shooting from three-point range.  Tyger Campbell was on the losing end of the Gary Trent effort, but he posted a strong stat line. Campbell had 10 assists and zero turnovers. Campbell is a 2019 point guard playing 17U EYBL.

The stat lines of the PSA Cardinals were insane against RM5. Brandon Randolph had 28 points on 9-19 shooting. Quade Green had 14 points, 14 assists and one turnover. Mohamed Bamba collected 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Hamidou Diallo had some of the most ridiculous dunks of the night. He nearly took off the rim with a couple of his powerful dunks. Diallo finished with 33 points and 12 rebounds. He was fantastic.

It is fun to watch Jordan Goodwin. He competes on every possession, and he is always attacking. He likes to dunk on every drive. Goodwin finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a win over Spiece Indy Heat.

2018 guard Tim Finke played really well for the St. Louis Eagles as well. He had 17 points and five rebounds in the victory.

Logan Hill and Kaleb Wesson dominated Mac Irvin Fire. Hill finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds while Wesson, an Ohio State verbal commitment, had 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Justin Smith was the only bright spot for Mac Irvin Fire in the loss. The high-major wing had 20 points on 8-9 shooting from the field. He had five rebounds as well.

There’s a lot to like about Mitchell Robinson of Pro Skills. Robinson is listed at 7-foot and he played like it. He had 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks against Team Griffin. Robinson is verbally committed to Texas A&M.

Jaylen Nowell tallied 25 points on 8-15 shooting for Seattle Rotary against CIA Bounce. He had five rebounds as well. Simi Shittu had an efficient 21 points and eight rebounds in the loss for CIA Bounce.

Alex Barcello can put points on the board in a hurry. He did exactly that against the New York Rens. Barcello had 21 points on 4-9 shooting from three-point range.
