Lawrence Central's Mekhi Biffle committed to the University of Tampa on Sunday evening. He will join 2015 Lawrence North alum Pat Bacon at Tampa. Here's a little more on Biffle.

Mekhi Biffle was one of the most sought after Division II recruits in the Midwest. He had scholarship offers from Southern Indiana, Indianapolis, Saginaw Valley State and Tampa among others. A few Division I schools were close to extending a scholarship throughout the season, but one never developed. 

Biffle is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard. He averaged 17 points and six rebounds per game as a senior. His Lawrence Central team won 19 games this season. They were one of the top teams in Indiana throughout the season. 

Biffle joins Pat Bacon at Tampa. Bacon averaged 19 points per game for Tampa as a freshman this year. Tampa was just 9-18 this year. They have a strong history in basketball, though. This was just a down year for them.
