Bloomington South's Tucker Blackwell committed to Army-West Point on Thursday. Army was the leader for Blackwell for much of his senior year. Here's a little more on the commitment.
Blackwell joins South Bend St. Joe's Mark Madden as 2016 commitments to Army. Army is bringing in a seven-player class at this point many of them are from the Midwest. Along with Madden, Nick Finke from Illinois and Matt Wilson from Kentucky are in the class.
The Bloomington South senior had a fantastic senior year. South went 21-5, and took the eventual state champions, New Albany, to overtime in the Regional. Blackwell averaged 18.7 points per game on the season. He shot 38% from three-point range. His senior year and career earned him a spot on the Indiana All-Star team.
Blackwell considered a walk-on spot with Butler before taking the Army offer.
