Kyle Mangas, a 2017 guard from Warsaw High School, committed to Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday evening. The NAIA program is getting a Division I player in Mangas.
Indiana Wesleyan has won two national championships in the last three years with players like Kyle Mangas. They have D1 transfers Grant Evans and Joel Okafor on the roster this season. Jacob Johnson had a handful of Division I offers before selecting Indiana Wesleyan out of high school. They consistently have major talent on their roster.
Mangas was incredible for Warsaw as a junior. The D1 attention never came despite Warsaw racking up wins and Mangas producing at a high level. There is no doubt that Mangas could have helped dozens of Division I teams.
The Warsaw product brings versatility from the guard position to Indiana Wesleyan. He’ll be able to play either guard position. He’s a very good spot-up shooter, and he rarely turns the ball over. From the outside, it looks like Mangas fits the Indiana Wesleyan system and culture very well.
Kyle Mangas is the 16th member of Indiana’s 2017 class to commit to a college for basketball.
