Scouting Report | Barthel played major minutes on a really good high school team. He is a decent athlete, but won't be finishing above the rim in traffic. He's a bit on the thin side, but isn't afraid of contact. Barthel's best attributes are on the defensive end. He is a tough and versatile defender. His offensive skill set needs to develop to a higher level.
vs. Lake Central is proving that he can shut down opposing big men. First he did a great job on Trey Lyles in the city championship and now he shut down Tyler Wideman. He had 6 points and 2 rebounds. He is an undersized power forward, but he is very physical. On the path to being a solid D2 or NAIA prospect.
vs. Chatard 4 points and 4 rebounds on the night.
vs. Indianapolis Tech converted on open lay-ups off of feeds from Evans all night. He was a big reason why Lyles did not get anything easy. He was very physical with Lyles and battled him for rebounds.
vs. Northwest like Dixon, Barthel had a very good game. He had 8 points and 4 rebounds. His skill set needs to improve to be a D1 prospect.
vs. Guerin sat out the scrimmage as he is on the football team and they are playing in the state championship game this weekend.
