Jaylon Brown is a 6’0 point guard from Fishers High School. Brown plays with Martin’s Wolverines on the AAU circuit. Martin’s Wolverines (sponsored by NBA player Kevin Martin) is a team made up of Ohio and Indiana players.

The explosive guard talked to us last week and here are his thoughts on his game and his recruitment.

IBS: Do you have any offers yet?

Jaylon Brown:” I have an offer from American (Washington, D.C.).”

IBS: Who else has shown interest?

Jaylon Brown: “Butler, Indiana, Dayton, Cincinnati, Ohio, Xavier, Toledo, Wright State”

IBS: Will you be visiting anywhere in June?

Jaylon Brown: “I have 5 visits in June. I’m going to Xavier, Cincinnati, Toledo, Ohio and IU”

IBS: How seriously have you thought about college so far?

Jaylon Brown:” It is starting to kick in a little bit more since I’m going into my junior year. I talk about it all the time with my family about what I want to do once I get into college. Right now, I haven’t really decided on what I want to do.”

IBS: When would be your ideal time to make a college commitment?

Jaylon Brown: “Heading into my senior year.”

IBS: What are your thoughts on how your spring has gone as an individual player?

Jaylon Brown:” I think I have done really well. I wasn’t really getting recruited as much before this spring… before the Pittsburgh Jamfest. Then around that time everything blew up and a lot of colleges started to follow me.”

IBS: What areas are you trying to improve this spring/summer?

Jaylon Brown: “Mostly I want to knock down the 3 and mid-range. I want to be able to protect the ball at all times.”

IBS: I’ve compared you to a high school version of Russell Westbrook, what do you think of that comparison?

Jaylon Brown:”Oh man, I get compared to him every day. No matter where I am at, I’ll be at open gym or at the gym. I get compared to him every day.”

IBS: Do you see the similarities?

Jaylon Brown: “I see a lot of similarities. We are both very good at attacking the basket and fast/athletic plus some people say we look alike."

IBS: Do you see yourself more as a point guard or a shooting guard right now?

Jaylon Brown: "I see myself as both but I’m trying to work on becoming strictly a point guard. That’s what I’m going to have to do when I get into college."
