Logansport's Jalen Adaway committed to Miami of Ohio Saturday. He was one of the top prospects on the board in Indiana's 2017 class.
Jalen Adaway has been an incredible athlete since entering high school. Because of his athleticism, Miami will be able to play him at either forward position in the MAC. He cold fit the mold of a small-ball four very well as he has improved his outside shooting over the last couple of years. He'll be able to play the wing as well.
Adaway saw recruiting attention across all levels. He had offers from Indiana State, New Orleans, Western Illinois and Valparaiso before committing to Miami. Many high-major programs kept an eye on Adaway's development as well, especially early in the recruiting process.
Adaway is the first recruit that Indianapolis native and former Purdue coach Jack Owens has landed at Miami. He landed the job just over a week ago. He went after Adaway right away along with offering 2017 guard Nike Sibande as well. Miami will be a consistent player for Indiana prospects.
Miami had a number of transfers after firing its head coach. Dalonte Brown, a forward from Ohio, committed to the last staff. It will be key for Owens to keep him as he is a high-upside player, and he will need players to fill a number of roles with the transfers.Adaway and Brown are the only members of the 2017 recruiting class for Miami right now.
