Don Bosco guard and Hamilton Heights alum Hunter Crist committed to Green Bay while on his official visit to the school.
Hunter Crist has been working for an opportunity at the Division I level for many years. It took him to Don Bosco after graduating from Hamilton Heights last year. After a strong season at Don Bosco, his goal was realized Thursday with his commitment to Green Bay.
Crist had pending official visits to Oakland and SEMO after his trip to Green Bay. Those visits will not be taken since he committed to Green Bay. He also had an offer from Lewis University on the table.
Hunter Crist is a big guard at 6-2/6-3. His standout attribute is his outside shooting. That happened to be one of the main weaknesses for Green Bay last year. According to KenPom.com, the Phoenix ranked 318 of 351 in the country with a 31.6% three-point efficiency. Crist's shooting could be his way into the Green Bay rotation. He was a consistent 40%+ three-point shooter over his career.
Green Bay is coached by former Purdue player Linc Darner. He led Florida Southern to a D2 national title before taking the Green Bay job. Darner has recruited Indiana hard throughout his college coaching career. He was led by a core group of Indiana natives at Florida Southern.
