It didn't take Carmel's John Michael Mulloy to pounce on Butler University's scholarship offer. The Bulldogs extended an offer to Mulloy last Monday.
Indiana Basketball Source wrote an update with John Michael Mulloy after his scholarship offer from Butler. That can be found here. He was also talked about in the article from Indy Heat's workout over the weekend. He continued to show his potential as a stretch four. Mulloy has a pure stroke in the mid-range and extends to the three-point line.
Mulloy is the first commitment in the 2019 class for Butler. Joey Brunk will be a redshirt junior when Mulloy gets on campus. Right now, those are the only two power forwards or centers expected to be on the roster. The Bulldogs will likely look to add another one or two post players by the time Mulloy graduates from Carmel.
Mulloy made major strides from his freshman year to sophomore year at Carmel. He averaged 9.5 points and eight rebounds per game as a sophomore. Those numbers should increase dramatically as a junior. If he plays through contact around the paint, Mulloy will post monster numbers. That's an area that he needs to improve in order to get on the floor at Butler as well.
John Michael Mulloy is the first player in Indiana's 2019 class to make a college commitment.
