Adonis Filer, formerly of Bishop Noll in Hammond, committed to Clemson on Tuesday. Filer played one season (senior year) at Bishop Noll and was a main reason why they made it to the state championship game. He played at Mount Carmel in Illinois before transferring to Noll. Filer is currently at Notre Dame Prep completing his post-graduate year.
Filer had offers during his senior year from Indiana State, Evansville, Western Kentucky, and Valparaiso. During his stint at Notre Dame Prep, he picked up offers from Baylor and Oregon State.
Filer is best in transition when he gets to the rim and finishes. He is a great athlete that can finish well above the rim. He’s also a good shooter when he gets his feet set and has rhythm to his shot. He gets in trouble by over-penetrating and jumping to make passes. Filer also isn’t very good when he is in a hurry to get his feet set on an outside shot. He is more of a SG than a PG at this point. Filer's athleticism is what will give him a chance to get playing time for Clemson. He will have to work on his decision making to be successful in the ACC though.
