Fishers point guard Jaylon Brown has verbally committed to the University of Evansville. He officially visited Evansville two weeks ago before visiting Miami (OH) this weekend. Brown had scholarship offers from Akron, American, Illinois State, Ohio, St. Bonaventure, and Toledo as well. It finally came down to Evansville and Miami (OH).
“The coaching staff was like a family to me,” Brown commented on why he picked Evansville. “The facilities and academics are great,” he said. The Missouri Valley Conference was also a factor in his decision.
Brown is likely the most athletic guard in the state of Indiana regardless of class. He has great body control when he gets to the basket, which allows him to finish most plays. His outside game has been steadily improving and has shot very well beyond the arc during the fall league. Brown has a very high ceiling at Evansville.
