Hamilton Southeastern and G3 GRIND forward Aaron Etherington committed to Toledo Monday.
Etherington had a more than a handful of scholarship offers, including in-state schools Ball State, Evansville, and IUPUI, before committing to Toledo Monday. It is good timing for Toledo as the July evaluation period is a little more than a week away. The Rockets will be able to track Etherington throughout the month knowing he is committed.
In the spring, Etherington played well for G3 GRIND. He shot 39.6% from three-point range. It looked like he tweaked his arch on his shot, and it led to great results in the spring. He also did a good job of rebounding against tough competition. In eight UAA games, Etherington averaged 16.6 points and 7.1 rebounds, per 32 minutes played.
As a big-time vertical athlete, Etherington has done a good job of developing his skill set. He has become a consistent outside shooter while making good decisions with the ball in his hands. He had a turnover rate of 12.9% in UAA play, which is great for a wing/forward.
Aaron Etherington is the brother of Austin Etherington (Indiana & Butler) and Alex Etherington (Indiana State & Indianapolis) although Austin and Alex went to high school at Hamilton Heights.
