Shelbyville and G3 GRIND guard Zach Kuhn committed to Army-West Point Tuesday.
The elite shooter and academic prospect found a good fit with West Point. Kuhn joins Tucker Blackwell, Alex King and Mark Madden on the Army roster. They also have a commitment from Matt Dove in the 2019 class. Blackwell and Madden attended the U.S. Military Academy Prep School prior to joining West Point.
Kuhn's incredible shooting in the April evaluation periods led to Army offering him. Kuhn shot 56% from three-point range on 45 attempts. He said in July that the opportunities of West Point were growing on him.
"The commitment they give to you as a person is amazing," Kuhn said of West Point.
Kuhn made a bunch of unofficial visits in June - Army, Columbia, Holy Cross, and Furman. Army was the only school that extended an offer, but those schools and more likely would have increased their interest in the fall and winter.
Kuhn is poised for a huge senior year with Shelbyville. He averaged 20 points and 8.6 rebounds as a junior. Those numbers will need to increase with Brock Blackwell and the Lewis twins graduated. He is Shelbyville's all-time leading rebounding and 50 points from the scoring record.
