Although Iowa and Fran McCaffery recruited Jackson-Davis hard, it was no surprise that the Hawkeyes were omitted while Indiana, Michigan State, and UCLA made the cut. IU and MSU have been fighting for Jackson-Davis for a couple years while UCLA has made a slightly later push. TJD has taken official visits to all three schools. He also took an official visit to Iowa before cutting his list. He had originally planned to take an official visit to Wake Forest but canceled that trip.
Trayce Jackson-Davis is the leader to win the 2019 Mr. Basketball award with Keion Brooks Jr. moving to non-IHSAA La Lumiere over the summer. It would have been the first true race for the award in many years. TJD will have to stave off Isaiah Thompson, Brandon Newman, and Armaan Franklin to earn the number one jersey.
TJD is an instant impact player at each of the three remaining schools. At a barefoot 6'8", Jackson-Davis is a difference maker on both ends of the floor. He is a great vertical athlete which helps his shot blocking ability, rebounding, and rim-finishing. He has made tremendous strides throughout his high school career. That has lead Jackson-Davis to be considered a top 15 prospect in the 2019 class.
