After de-committing from SIU-Edwardsville, Lawrence Central wing Jacob LaRavia committed to Indiana State Saturday while on an official visit.
Due to a coaching change, LaRavia opened his recruitment this spring. He immediately heard from dozens of college coaches. Indiana State was one of the first and extended an offer. LaRavia also valued staying close to home. A combination of those things helped Indiana State land the 2019 Indiana All-Star.
This spring, LaRavia fielded interest from Purdue and Missouri, but neither school extended an offer before LaRavia took his official visit to Indiana State.
LaRavia joins Cobie Barnes, Tre Williams, and Jared Hankins in Indiana State's 2019 recruiting class. All four players should be in contention for playing time next year as the Sycamores went 15-16 this past season.
As a senior, LaRavia averaged 17.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game against a top-tier high school schedule. He had an eFG% of 63% as a senior thanks to 43% from behind the arc.
