Point Guard Receiving High-Academic Interest

Carmel point guard Michael Volovic (2013) is receiving interest from St. Francis (PA) and Cornell. He said that he hasn’t heard from anyone new after his strong performance at IndyBall. Volovic is a tough, heady point guard that is also a knock-down shooter from the outside.

No New Interest

Alex Etherington 6’6” SF Hamilton Heights 2013 had an explosive weekend. He thrived in transition and in the half-court when he was attacking the basket. He did struggle to pass against pressure and he didn’t show much of an outside shot. Etherington said that no new schools have been in contact this week. His only offer is from IPFW.

John Murry 6’3” SG/SF North Central 2013 also had a very good weekend. He had strong games against Tony Wills and then against the tough Martin’s Wolverines team. He noted that no new schools have been in contact, but Ohio, Detroit, and Nebraska-Omaha all talked to his high school coach.

2012 Commitments

Daniel Purvlicis 6’7” PF Noblesville committed to Wabash College, picking them over Marian University.

Quientin Hunter 6’3” SG Richmond committed to the University of Indianapolis last week.

Bryant Ackerman 6’2” PG Loogootee committed to Elmhurst College in Illinois.

Kyle Wuest 6’3” SG Edinburg also committed to Elmhurst College in Illinois.

Quilyn Howard-Upshaw 6’1” PG Fort Wayne North Side has committed to Parkland College. {/iACL}
