For the second year in a row, Marian University has landed a transfer from IUPUI. This time, Indianapolis native Nick Rogers is heading to the NAIA power. (Picture from IUPUIjags.com)
Rogers started his college career at Toledo before transfering to IUPUI. He started 25 games as a redshirt sophomore for IUPUI and scored 5.1 points per game. He will give Marian size and athleticism at the guard position.
Last year, T.J. Henderson transferred to Marian for his final season. Henderson averaged 16.5 points per game in his only season with the Knights. Marian is hoping for similar production from Rogers this season.
Marian has had great success under Scott Heady. The Knights are 50-20 with two national tournament appearances in Heady's two seasons. D1 transfers like Rogers have helped in that success. Along with Henderson, Marian has had Reginald Kissoonlal, Cameron Wolter, and Jonathan Nwankwo as former D1 players on the roster.
