2021 shooting guard
Jayden Taylor committed to
Butler on Thursday night.
The Perry Meridian guard is the first commitment for
Butler in the 2021 class. He had offers from Bradley,
IUPUI, and
Miami of Ohio before popping for
Butler. He would have drawn more high-major interest this fall and winter.
Taylor had a strong travel season for G3 GRIND. He averaged 11 points a game while being insanely efficient. He was 15-27 (56%) from three-point range. He also made 81% of his free throws. If he can make shots on a regular basis,
Taylor will be tough to stop.
At a recent Jeff Teague workout,
Taylor dominated both ends with his length. He's a barefoot six-foot-four as his junior year. He has wide shoulders and longer arms to boot. He was picking off passes that opponents thought he had no chance of disrupting. He also drove and finished at the basket on a consistent basis. He isn't the most explosive athlete but his length makes up for it.
At
Butler, he has a chance to be an early impact player through his toughness and defense. LaVall Jordan appreciates those qualities. He has the potential to be a very good player in the Big East.
