The recruiting news and activity continue to motor through the current pandemic. Here’s a look at the recent happenings around the state. (Pictured: Nick Anderson)
Lake Central shooting guard Nick Anderson continues to pick up interest and scholarship offers. The 2020 shooter has received offers from Bethel and Tiffin. He would be able to help both programs sooner rather than later.
Norwell had a great season as one of the top 3A teams. A driving force behind that success was 2020 forward Will Geiger. He has decided to continue his career at Grace College. Geiger’s rebounding and effort will get him playing time for the Lancers.
Speaking of Grace, they picked up a major transfer in Frankie Davidson. He played his freshman year at the University of Indianapolis. He had a great career at Blackhawk Christian before picking UIndy. He has three years to play and should make a huge impact for Grace.
Sticking with the University of Indianapolis, rising senior Trevor Lakes announced his transfer this week. The Lebanon graduate established himself as one of the top shooters at the D2 level. He will receive D1 attention but says he is looking for the right fit and a place to win.
Continuing in the transfer market, Creighton freshman Jalen Windham announced his commitment to Ball State on Twitter. The Ben Davis alum was a 2019 Indiana All-Star as he helped the Giants reach the state final in his senior season. He played in 16 games for the Bluejays.
From the junior college level, Michigan City graduate Dante Combs committed to the University of Illinois-Springfield. Combs played two seasons at Lincoln Trail. UIS is a D2 school.
*Update* 2022 shooting guard Connor Essegian was offered by Purdue-Fort Wayne. Essegian is an elite shooter. He shoots it well off the move - which is rare for a high school sophomore. For Central Noble, he's also a tough rebounder. In three games I tracked, two against Churubusco and one vs. Prairie Heights, Essegian had 33 rebounds. He was also 14-27 (51.9%) from three-point range.
