Alford replaces Ty Platt, who retired in March after 12 seasons. In 2019-2020, Huntington was 14-16 overall and 6-12 in the tough Crossroads League. The Crossroads League placed Indiana Wesleyan, Marian, Grace, Spring Arbor, and St. Francis in the NAIA D2 national tournament this season.
Kory is following a similar path that he father took. Steve started his college coaching career at Manchester University. In 1995, Alford led Manchester to the D3 national championship game before falling to Bo Ryan's Wisconsin-Platteville. Kory will try to replicate that success at Huntington.
Alford's title at Nevada was director of player development.
