Corsaro played football and basketball at UIndy before becoming an assistant coach for Stan Gouard. He was the associate head coach for two years before taking an assistant spot with Purdue-Fort Wayne two seasons ago. With Gouard leaving for Southern Indiana, Corsaro returns to take over the team.
Indy's south side is in Corsaro's blood. He was a star at Roncalli before going to Youngstown State for a semester to play football. He returned to play for UIndy after the fall semester.
As a coach, he has attacked the duties of recruiting and gameplanning just like he was playing. In his first seven seasons as a coach, his teams were over .500. This past season with Purdue-Fort Wayne was the first losing year that he suffered.
Under Gouard, UIndy was 204-111 in 12 seasons. The Greyhounds went to six NCAA tournaments and would have made it this season. The Greyhounds were a top-ranked D2 team this season before it was canceled.
