The South Bend Riley graduate played two seasons for the Hoosiers. His playing time was eliminated in Big Ten play this season. Despite that, there was still a chance that he would return to Bloomington. Reports are that he did everything that the coaching staff asked, and he was a great teammate. Anderson decided that he would pursue more playing time at a lower D1 level.
For his IU career, Anderson scored 82 points and grabbed 63 rebounds in 425 total minutes. He made great strides as a defender, but Anderson's shooting never found consistency. At Loyola, he should be able to display his full game.
After announcing his transfer, Anderson was contacted by schools like Grand Canyon, Valparaiso, Southern Illinois, and Illinois State. As the Loyola stands now, Anderson should be able to compete for a starting forward spot after he sits out a year. Reports are the NCAA is not going to change the transfer rule this season. It's still possible that Anderson receives a waiver to play immediately, but I'm not aware of any hardship that would make that possible.
Since losing in the 2018 Final Four, Loyola has backed up the run with strong seasons. Last year, the Ramblers 21-11 including 13-5 in the Missouri Valley. Anderson should help sustain that success.
