Without spring or summer evaluation periods, schools still have to move forward with recruiting. In the last few days, Purdue has handed out a handful of 2022 offers. Indiana Basketball Source takes a look at those offers. (Pictured: Tae Davis from last spring)
Last summer, Gary West Side's Jalen Washington was the Purdue's first in-state 2022 offer. He was sidelined the entire high school season with an ACL tear. He remains the top prospect in the state as he has NBA potential. Prior to the pandemic, Washington was not planning on playing club basketball this season. He's only seven months removed from the tear.
Wednesday, Indianapolis wing Tae Davis was the second in-state 2022 player to receive a Purdue offer. Davis is another player that oozes with potential. He was the third option for Lawrence Central as a sophomore with Dre Davis and Nijel Pack leading the way. The Bears were one of the top teams in Indiana all season.

If a club season occurs, Davis will be teammates with another player that received a Purdue offer on Wednesday – Paul McMillan IV. McMillan is a high-scoring guard from Cincinnati. Davis and McMillan are set to be on Indy Heat's 16U team this summer/fall.
Big Ten fans will recognize the name of the next offer recipient – Fletcher Loyer. He's the brother of current Michigan State point guard Foster Loyer. Fletcher is much bigger than Foster – Fletcher is in the 6-4 range. Fletcher is also more of a shooting guard than point guard but can handle the ball.
Branching out a bit, Purdue offered Philadelphia guard Jameel Brown. Brown is a combo guard. The Purdue offer comes a couple weeks after Nebraska offered.
Rounding out the offer list, the Boilermakers offered Georgia point guard Bruce Thornton Jr. As expected, he has a host of SEC offers. It has been a busy few days for Thornton. After the Purdue offer, Indiana and Murray State extended offers as well.
