A few weeks ago, there was a rumor that 2022 star Fletcher Loyer was transferring from Clarkston, Michigan to Fort Wayne. That is now official as The Detroit News confirms. Loyer has transferred to Homestead High School. (Photo via 247sports.com)
Loyer is a big-time shooter that picked up an offer from Purdue last month. Fletcher is the younger brother of current Michigan State point guard Foster Loyer. Fletcher is a different player than Foster as Fletcher is much taller and a shooting guard.
This summer, Loyer is playing with Indy Heat's main 16U team. He had a great first weekend as a shooter with the group. Indiana Basketball Source first saw Loyer at last year's Crossroads Elite Invitational. He made Indiana Basketball Source's third team for the event. Here is the full report.
Homestead is going to have plenty of size and skill next season. Of course, the Spartans have Illinois-bound Luke Goode. He has been the Homestead leader for the last couple of years. Chris Johnson also has 2022 forward Andrew Leeper returning. Leeper missed the beginning of last season due to injury but proved to be a highly efficient offensive player. All three of those players have the ability to stretch the floor. With supporting cast players like Grant Simmons and Preston Barker, Homestead is going to be one of the top teams in the state.
