From start to finish Saturday, Indiana Basketball Source observed the Battle of the Brands between the top Indiana Elite and Indy Heat teams in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 classes. Here is a rundown of the day’s superlatives from an individual standpoint.
Dominant performance: Logan Duncomb – 6-9 – C – Indiana Elite 2021 – committed to Indiana
Heading into the final game of the day, the buzz around the gym was centered around the Trey Kaufman-Caleb Furst match-up. In the end, those two weren’t match-up against each very often. Instead, Duncomb stole the show as he took the action right at Furst from the tip. Duncomb’s length, strength, and touch proved too much for Furst and Indy Heat. When facing up, he was also able to put the ball on the floor for a couple dribbles to get to the basket. Behind Duncomb’s play a few minutes into the contest, Indiana Elite grabbed the lead and never looked back. The Indiana-bound center finished with 29 points after he scored 18 in the opening half. On top of his play in the paint, Duncomb went 11-12 from the free throw line. It was a performance that will raise Duncomb’s national profile.
