In a move that was anticipated by nearly everyone for the last two years, Blake Simmons has verbally committed to his father's Evansville Aces program. Simmons is a 6-5 wing that excels in a motion offense setting because he moves well without the ball and reads defenses very proficiently for a high school player. He is an average to below average athlete for the D1 level, but should be able to make up for it with his knowledge of the game. Simmons' top attribute is his shooting ability.
Simmons averaged nearly 20 points and 7 rebounds per game this season for Castle High School. He shot 55% from the field and 41% from 3. He plays his summer basketball with Indiana Elite-South, who is coached by Dan Dakich.
