Indiana Basketball Source's top 2023 prospect - Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn - announced that he's leaving McCutcheon for Real Salt Lake Academy in Utah.
There were rumblings that Gibbs-Lawhorn would attend a prep school before his high school career was over, but it didn't seem like it would be this year. The dynamic point guard had surgery on his foot in the fall. It was going to hold him out of most the season, but he is ahead of schedule for his return right now. Real Salt Lake's extended schedule could allow Gibbs-Lawhorn extra time to get back on the court this season.
Gibbs-Lawhorn leaves the state to play for Dave Evans. That's the same path that former Lawrence North player Mike Saunders Jr. took. Saunders played two seasons at Wasatch Academy for Evans. Saunders is currently at freshman at Cincinnati. Here is more on Evans taking the Real Salt Lake job.
The talented sophomore has offers from Indiana and Purdue with high-major interest from dozens of other programs. He is projected to be one of the top 2023 players in the nation.
