June is a month where Indiana high school players get to practice and play under the supervision of their high school coach. It marks the end of the first portion of the club season. Players will reunite with their club teams in July where there is another evaluation period that college coaches can attend tournaments.
We decided to take a look at players that either stepped up their games or dominated play in April and May. These are players that we personally saw a lot. So, a player like Trevon Bluiett, who put up great numbers against the best players in the nation during the Nike EYBL, will not be included since we did not see him very much.

2013
Alex Etherington entered the spring with a lot to prove. He had an offer from IPFW and Midwest mid-majors were showing some interest, but it was minimal. Etherington has shown that his game has really improved. He excels in the open court and while attacking the basket in the half court. His shooting has also become much more consistent and seems to be improving tournament to tournament. He picked up an offer from Kansas State in April.
Jordan Pickett was one of the biggest surprises of the spring and also was one of the most dominant. He has led the Indiana Elite-Stars to a very good spring. Pickett is an extremely athletic scorer who has begun the transition to the point guard position. He is still more of a score first combo guard, but he has played that he is at least a mid-major prospect if not higher this spring.
2014
P.J. Thompson has been the top performer regardless of class in Indiana this spring. He has scored at will and still distributed the ball perfectly. His Spiece Indy Ice-Thompson team has won a handful of tournaments this spring. The only thing holding Thompson’s recruiting back is his height. He has dominated bigger and stronger guards this spring. At some point, you have to look at his production and conclude that he is going to get it done at the next level…someway, somehow.
Bryant McIntosh is another player that was both a surprise and had really good production this spring. I wasn’t very high on him last spring, but he has grown and his athleticism has really improved. He is definitely a shoot first type of player, but he doesn’t take too many bad shots. He has proven that he is a great mid-major prospect this spring and possibly higher down the road. ESPN ranked him in the top 50 nationally, but I feel that is quite a stretch at this time.
Sean Sellers has been the steadiest player on the Eric Gordon 2014 team. Most games he is in the 20 and 10 range. Sellers doesn’t always pop out at you like a Sam Logwood dunk or a McIntosh shooting spree, but he just gets it done. He has proven that he can guard athletic wings this spring. That was one of my main questions about him since he doesn’t face many great athletes at Greensburg High School.
2015
Hyron Edwards would have easily had the best spring of any Indiana prospect if it was not for P.J. Thompson. Edwards has exploded onto the national scene this spring. He has been unstoppable getting to the basket and making plays for his teammates. His excellent play has been recognized with offers by Indiana and Purdue with strong attention from the rest of the Big Ten.
2016
Eron Gordon has been playing with the sophomore-to-be Eric Gordon Central Stars all spring and has consistently dominated. I have not seen anyone stop him from getting to the basket. He is too strong and athletic for his opponents. Plus, he plays with an intensity and toughness that is unmatched in that age division. He was also offered by Indiana and Purdue this spring. {/iACL}
