The first day of the adidas 3SSB in Birmingham, Alabama showcased many notable performances. First, Connor Essegian started the day by torching the nets from deep. Then, Indiana Elite 2023 used a couple of significant spurts to beat Compton Magic in 16U. Here is a look at the highlights of the day.

 

Essegian’s shooting helped Indiana Elite 2022 climb out of an early hole against a highly athletic NY Jayhawks team. He finished the game eight of ten from deep in the game on his way to 29 points. Essegian’s shooting helped settle Indiana Elite into its footing after getting knocked back on its heels. In addition, his shot fake-one dribble-stepback three in the second half was outstanding. Performances like this could take Essegian’s recruitment from dozens of mid-major schools to power conference teams.
