Central Noble High School shooting guard Connor Essegian received a scholarship offer from the University of
Wisconsin on Monday while visiting the Big Ten school. It is his second Big Ten offer, as
Minnesota offered Essegian last week.
One of the storylines heading into July was, “Will Essegian receive high-major offers?” But
Creighton answered that by offering him in the middle of July. Soon,
Butler and Wake Forest followed with offers. Recently,
Minnesota and
Wisconsin have joined the mix.
Today’s
Wisconsin scholarship offer came while Essegian unofficially visited the Madison campus.
On Tuesday, Essegian takes an unofficial visit to
Minnesota. After these unofficial visits, Essegian said that he would work towards setting up official visits. He has dozens of offers from D1 schools - Loyola,
Ball State, Elon, Wofford,
Purdue-
Fort Wayne, Belmont, and many others.
Essegian led
Indiana Elite 2022 in scoring (15.9 points per game) over 15 Adidas 3SSB games – four in April and 11 in July – tracked by Synergy Sports. He also averaged 5.7 rebounds and a team-best 1.8 offensive rebounds per game. Essegian’s willingness to defend bigger opponents and rebound stood out with
Indiana Elite. He filled any role that was needed.
During his sophomore season, Essegian established himself as one of the top shooters in the state. The 2022 guard is particularly good at sprinting or curling into outside shots. Additionally, his shooting motion, balance, and range are excellent when moving into a shot. There are not many high school players better at doing those things.
